guide is almost needed to navigate amongst the 25’000 bottles that are stored in the cellar. The wine card offers some 800 wines, with 300 others not yet listed as they are still aging.
The two main axes are Swiss and naturally, French. Located in the biggest winegrowing area of Switzerland, the Domaine de Châteauvieux is obligated to privilege the wines of Geneva, produced by the best winegrowers. There is equally a large selection of Valaisan specialities including the very rare botrytis wines produced by Marie-Thérèse Chappaz. The vineyards of France, from Champagne, Provence, Bordeaux to the Côte d’Or are well represented.
In particular it is worth mentioning Château d’Yquem, with a selection of 20 vintages covering more than a century. From the Burgundy, whites and reds come from the best growers. A wide choice of vintage champagnes are also available.
Some wine regions less well known such as the Jura are also not forgotten. If you wish to explore further away, let us tempt you with a Vega Sicilia Unico from Spain, an Eiswein from Austria, or a Klein Constantia from South Africa.
